Daniel De La Garza tries criminal cases and carries them through appeal and post conviction writs in state and federal court, as a partner at Jones & De La Garza since 2023 and through De La Garza Criminal Defense since 2014. His docket includes murder, capital murder, federal drug trafficking, sex offenses, firearm and white collar cases.

He learned the courthouse from the inside, as a criminal court clerk for the Bexar County District Clerk before law school, then clerked for the Harris County Public Defender's Office and the Fourteenth Court of Appeals as a student. He holds a J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and he has served on the association's board since 2020.
